About the Writers

Agony & Ivy is primarily written and maintained by Joel C. Boehm. JCB used to live in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, and worked full time as a network technician and technical writer for a consulting company in the suburbs before resigning to move to Austin, Texas. After taking some time to complete some personal writing projects, he worked again as a network technician for a firm in Austin. He later enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, where he is now in his second year. He serves as an associate editor for the Texas Law Review. He writes this site as a hobby, and does not make any money whatsoever for it. He pays all expenses out of his own pocket. Figuring that if he's watching almost every inning of every game, he might as well document it -- as much for himself as for anyone else, but maybe you'll enjoy it as well.

The Eye of the Beerholder is contributed by Kevin J. Marks. Last season, KJM moved across Ashland Avenue from Chicago's Roscoe Village neighborhood into Lakeview. He works as a project manager for the municipal group of a civil engineering firm in the western suburbs. He is credited with coming up with both the title for this site and for his space on the site (KJM: "Catchy little play on words in the vein of my favorite poet/wordsmith James Buffett.") A skilled amateur photographer, he has taken nearly all of the photos seen on Agony & Ivy. He is a sports and music enthusiast -- especially fond of live events -- and can be found all over the Chicago scene.

The View From Wrigleyville is written by Peter McCleery. PMc is a lifelong Cub fan beginning in 1970 (he thankfully was away for the summer of 1969 with his cousin in Canada). A native of downstate Quincy, Ill (in deeply divided Cardinal-Cub country) he grew up listening to Vince and Lou on the radio and arguing with Redbird fans until attending Northwestern University in Evanston largely to be closer to the Cubs. He graduated from Medill School of Journalism in 1980 during the Herman Franks-Steve Ontiveros era. An award-winning professional sportswriter with Golf Digest Magazine and golfobserver.com, he is a resident of Wrigleyville who keeps a close eye on the Cubs at home and away...until, like Peter Finch in "Network" he just can't take it anymore!!

Westside Wavelength is not currently active, but was written by Jonathan M. Iseman, who lives in Wicker Park.
