Approaching Perfection

Sometimes it’s worth it to take time you don’t exactly have to do something that is more than worth doing. Sometimes it works out darn close to perfect when you do. Sometimes you look back and realize that you were lucky enough to be in the corner of the world that is at least as good as any other corner in the world was on that particular weekend, instantly a memory emblazoned among the select set you will carry with you for decades.

Through New Eyes

Well, as I sit to write the Cubs have nearly tied the game again, behind only 7 to 6, with no outs and the bases loaded in what we can only describe as a very wacky game. That seems about right. I mean, it’s that kind of weekend. Barely over a week remains, so all bets are off.

I was thinking this morning about how tomorrow afternoon will feel for my girlfriend. We are flying into Chicago tonight. Tomorrow will be her first Cubs game. Sunday will be her second. Really, could we have wound up with a better weekend for it? (continue...)
