Way to Support Your Team, Sox Fans

I was thinking today about the Chicago Sun-Times' Joe Cowley's preseason column predicting that the White Sox were on the verge of overtaking the Cubs as Chicago's favorite baseball team. The scene Saturday at the stadium formerly known as Comiskey Park would indicate otherwise.

The Sox were featured on Fox's Saturday "Game of the Week" and their fans embarassed them by not turning out. The announced gathering was 21,250, but by the seventh inning the gathering could have easily fit in my kitchen. Way to support your team, Sox fans!

The Sox responded with an uninspired 7-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angeles - their third straight setback and fifth loss on their season-opening homestand. The glory of 2005 seems so long ago.
