Dodgers 12, Cubs 2

By Chris Rewers on Friday, April 22, 2011

Hero: Kosuke Fukudome went 3-for-4 to raise his average to .417.

Goat: Casey Coleman (1-1) allowed six runs on six hits while walking four during a disastrous 51-pitch third inning. Manager Mike Quade removed Coleman with two outs and runners on first and second.

Key Play: A two-out, two-run single by A.J. Ellis gave the Dodgers a 5-0 lead.

Comment: Los Angeles starter Chad Billingsley (2-1) allowed seven hits over 6 1/3 innings in a rain-delayed game that some Cubs fans wish never would have started.

Next: Ted Lilly (1-2, 4.09 ERA) makes his first start against his old team since being traded by the North Siders last July 31 and will oppose friend Ryan Dempster (1-2, 6.84) when the Cubs (9-10) host the Dodgers (11-10) on Saturday (CSN, 12:05 p.m.). Dempster has allowed four or more runs in each of his four starts this season.
