Heroes: Starlin Castro (4-for-5) and Alfonso Soriano (3-for-5), who each homered, combined for seven of the Cubs' 17 hits.

Goat: Marlon Byrd went 0-for-5 and struck out twice, but still enters Sunday's action as a .300 hitter.

Key Play: The Cubs were clinging to a 3-1 lead in the seventh when Starlin Castro hit a three-run homer.

Comment: Casey Coleman (1-0) scattered four hits over 5 2/3 innings to earn the win.

Next: Ryan Dempster (1-2, 6.30 ERA) will start Sunday (WGN, 2:10 p.m.) against right-hander Alan Johnson, who will be making his major league debut.
