Still Slightly Less Lame Than The White Sox
Both Chicago teams gained a couple spots in Phil Rogers' weekly power ratings.
In Rogers' mind, which is often a muddled and mysterious place in our view, the Cubs are now the 19th-best team in the majors, up two slots from last week. (The Sox moved up two slots to 22nd.)
What accounts for the Cubs' upward mobility?
"Ted Lilly's return provides a lift," Rogers writes.
Actually, as much as we love Teddy Baseball, Lilly's return has had far less to do with the Cubs' little winning streak as their red-hot, ass-thumping bats.
But we'll take it - for now.
