Cubs 4, Nationals 3 (10 innings)

By Chris Rewers on Monday, April 26, 2010

Hero: Marlon Byrd went 3-for-5 and played a role in each of the three innings in which the Cubs scored runs.

Goat: Derrek Lee went 0-for-4.

Key Play: Aramis Ramirez drew the Cubs' eighth walk of the night with the bases loaded to push across the winning run in the bottom of the 10th.

Comment: The Cubs' bullpen was finally something worth crowing about as Sean Marshall, Carlos Zambrano, and Carlos Marmol combined for three shutout innings.

Next: The Cubs will try to make it five in a row when they send Tom Gorzelanny (0-2, 2.40 ERA) against resurgent Washington starter Livan Hernandez (2-1, 0.75) on Tuesday (WCIU, 7:05 p.m.).
