White Sox versus Orioles at US Cellular Field

Section 102 Row 6 Seat 8

Took a trip to the southside to see Sammy Sosa not play in Chicago. A friend's dad decided to bag the game with Sosa on the DL so we headed to the Cell for an afternoon of division leaders.

Sitting in Section 102, prime heckling location had Sosa been in the game.

Our view from the right field bleachers. Nice seats, although the game was rather uneventful with the exception of Everett and Dye going back to back homeruns. However it was not enough as the Sox lost 6-2 and never led, bringing an end to their always being ahead at some point in the game.

Took this picture on the way back from getting food and didn't notice the sign inthe lower left until I downloaded it onto my computer. I think a lot of people either wanted to give Sammy a last cheer or really wanted to boo him. Attendance was up for the series and the right field seats had sold fast. With Sosa gone however, there were some empty seats in right field. There is definitely some bitterness toward old Sammy still in the air.

The Sox have all their players with retired numbers up in center field. Nice retrospective of the Sox yesteryears.

I'm glad you put these up here. Especially that shot of the retired numbers along the wall -- that's a great photograph. There will be a lot more White Sox discussion this week on A&I...
